IN COLLABORATION WITH BW INTERIORS

Unveiling Brilliance: The BW North Colonnade Office Odyssey.

Amidst Canary Wharf’s iconic skyline, symbolising ambition and innovation, City Concepts has played a pivotal role in a transformative project that elevates office design beyond the conventional. As expert glaziers, we’ve contributed to a collaborative vision, enhancing the essence of the workspace with our specialised craftsmanship and innovative glazing solutions via Concept25. The North Colonnade project, a collaboration with the luminaries at Orbit Architects, M Moser Associates, and BW Interiors, is not just a testament to City Concepts’ prowess in commercial glazing fit-outs but a narrative of assisting in redefining workspaces for a leading management consultancy firm.

Sculpting Light: Where Spaces Showcase Boldness and Brilliance!

Under the strategic vision of project lead Bruce McGregor, the City Concepts team embarked on a 19-week journey to transform 60,000 sq ft of prime Canary Wharf real estate into a beacon of modern work culture. The task was to infuse the levels 11, 13, and 14 of 25 North Colonnade with single glazed partitions, creating meeting rooms, private offices, and phone booths that resonate with the ethos of transparency, collaboration, and innovation.

Crafting a Symphony Of Glass and Light.

At the core of the project’s design and functionality lies the Concept25 system, enveloped in the shade of RAL 9010—a color resonating with the essence of clarity and potential. This choice not only defines the project’s aesthetic vision but also its commitment to creating spaces that are as visually striking as they are functionally transformative. The use of 14.8mm acoustic laminate glass not only elevated the acoustic performance but also the visual and tactile experience of the spaces. The tech panels, also in RAL 9010, along with the 54mm acoustic oak veneered timber doors, introduced a textural depth and warmth, while the meticulously selected double glazed and 90-minute fire-rated glazed doors, with their distinctive mustard handles and painted in RAL 200 20 23, added layers of sophistication and safety.

Uniting Vision and Craft in Architectural Elegance.

What sets the North Colonnade project apart is not just the technical specifications or the materials used but the seamless symphony of collaboration. Each partner, from Orbit Architects to MMoser and BW, played a pivotal role in harmonising the myriad elements of design, functionality, and innovation. This project was a ballet of expertise, with each step, from design to installation, choreographed to perfection.

Navigating Architectural Challenges Under Pressure.

The journey was not without its hurdles. The ambitious timeline set against the vastness of the project demanded precision, agility, and a proactive stance on procurement. Yet, the real magic lay in the adaptability and coordination with Mechanical & Electrical subcontractors, ensuring that every technical panel and lobby door not only met but exceeded the functional requisites, seamlessly integrating access control and capturing the mechanical and electrical necessities.

A Dedication to Detail

The details in ironmongery and finishes speak volumes of the commitment to quality and aesthetics. Franchi stainless steel and mustard pull handles were not just functional elements but accents that enhance the narrative of sophistication and detail-oriented design. The choice of RAL codes was a deliberate one, ensuring a cohesive and visually stunning finish that complements the architectural integrity of the space.

A New Paradigm

The transformation at North Colonnade transcends mere physical space – it’s a testament to the transformative power of collaborative design. By melding visionary architecture with City Concepts’ innovative glazing solutions, like Concept25, we illuminate the essence of modern workspaces. Our role, though complementary, is pivotal in infusing spaces with light, energy, and a sense of well-being, marking our dedication to redefining the possibilities of commercial interiors. Together, we craft environments that not only inspire and engage but also celebrate the synergy between design, functionality, and the human experience.
