IN COLLABORATION WITH BW WORKPLACE EXPERTS

Harmonising Space and Sound: Inside the BW x MW, More Place Transformation.

This month’s Space Of The Month spotlight takes us to 2 More London Place in the heart of the City of London, where City Concepts collaborated with BW, Manalo & White, Franchi, and Birmingham Veneers to deliver a sophisticated glazing solution across 13,000 sq. ft. of commercial space.

Architectural Precision Meets Acoustic Excellence: In today’s dynamic workplace environments, the balance between open collaboration and focused privacy has never been more critical. At More London Place, City Concepts was tasked with designing, supplying, and installing a mixture of single and double-glazed partitions to form new offices and meeting rooms – all delivered within a remarkably efficient 9-week timeline.

The project showcases our industry-leading Concept25 and Concept54 systems, finished in a striking RAL 9005 (deep black) that creates a bold architectural statement throughout the space. These systems were paired with elegant black stained oak doors and complemented by satin stainless steel Franchi lever handles, delivering a cohesive design language that balances contemporary aesthetics with timeless materials.

What sets this installation apart is the meticulous attention to detail in the finishing elements. Horizontal and vertical banding was applied to screens, while aluminum kick plate panels were fitted at low level to the glass, functioning as a sophisticated skirting detail. The installation was completed with reeded film manifestation, adding both visual interest and practical functionality.

Superior Acoustic Performance in a Fast-Paced Environment: In modern commercial environments, acoustic performance isn’t merely a technical specification – it’s a fundamental component of workplace wellbeing and productivity. The More London Place project exemplifies our commitment to creating spaces where sound is thoughtfully managed rather than merely mitigated.

The single-glazed partitioning achieves an impressive 40dB acoustic rating, while the double-glazed elements deliver an exceptional 46dB performance. These aren’t just numbers on a specification sheet – they represent the tangible difference between distraction and concentration, between privacy and exposure.

With meticulous engineering and inspired aesthetics, our Concept25 system stands as the gold standard for glazed partition systems. With an architect’s precision and an artist’s touch, this system raises the bar, introducing a new era of spatial glazing transformation. Similarly, our Concept54 system represents a game-changing solution to the modern-day architectural challenge of seamlessly merging style with sound control.

Navigating Complexity with Collaborative Expertise

The More London Place project presented several challenges that showcased City Concepts’ problem-solving capabilities and collaborative approach. The quick turnaround requirement was addressed through our superior lead times – and allowed us to successfully deliver this project in an impressive 9 week timeline.

Coordination proved essential, particularly in aligning the kick plates and banding with specialist joinery elements. This required close collaboration with our partners to ensure perfect integration between different architectural components.

The success of this project underscores the importance of partnership in delivering exceptional commercial spaces. Working alongside BW, Manalo & White, Franchi, and Birmingham Veneers, we were able to bring together diverse expertise to create a cohesive, high-performance environment that exceeds expectations.

Sustainability Through Thoughtful Design.

At City Concepts, we recognise that true sustainability in commercial spaces goes beyond materials – it encompasses longevity, adaptability, and acoustic performance. Our approach to the More London Place project reflects our commitment to building a greener future through responsible design and innovation.

The acoustic performance achieved in this installation contributes directly to the sustainability of the space by creating environments that support occupant wellbeing and productivity. By designing partitioning systems that effectively manage sound transmission, we help create spaces where people can thrive – reducing stress, enhancing focus, and supporting collaborative work when needed.

Our Concept25 and Concept54 systems are designed with adaptability in mind, allowing for future reconfiguration as workplace needs evolve. This inherent flexibility extends the useful life of the installation and reduces the need for complete replacements as organisational requirements change.

Looking Forward: Shaping Tomorrow’s Workspaces Today.

The More London Place project exemplifies City Concepts’ approach to commercial fit-outs: delivering precision-engineered solutions that balance aesthetic appeal with exceptional performance. As we continue to sculpt tomorrow’s workspaces today, we remain committed to pushing boundaries in design, acoustics, and sustainability.

With numerous exciting projects in our pipeline, we look forward to continuing our Space Of The Month series, showcasing the diverse ways in which our systems and expertise are transforming commercial environments across London and beyond.
